Orpa

When my husband and I got married, my niece Orpa was one year old. I remember when I met her on our 2002 trip to Bangladesh I was amazed at how small she was. However, although she had a little, tiny body, she also had a fierce will. One of the most difficult battles was getting her to eat. She wouldn't eat anything other than chips. I remember that she would hold her hand out and squeeze her fingers into a fist to indicate she wanted you to give her a bag. I always fell for her trick, and since I tried to hold her as often as possible, I would bribe her into my arms with chips. There she would sit, contentedly munching until the bag was empty.

Now, she's nearly 7 years old, and she's so big! I can't believe how time has flown.

Dear Rachel,

I miss reading your blog. I check your blog religiously, and it makes me sad that there are no new entries!

P.S. We also need to do lunch :)
P.P.S. Thanks for filling out my note on facebook! It was super cute and I loved it.

LOVE, Ruth.
